Laurel 50, Delmar 40 The Wildcats scored only 3 points in the first quarter and couldn't recover in falling to 2-16 in the Henlopen South and 3-18 overall. Serena Thomas was the only Wildcat in double figures with 15 points. Indian River 48, Delmar 34 The Wildcats nearly pulled off a gigantic upset, staying even with the Henlopen South leading Indians until late in the game. Delmar was tied 34-34 with IR with three minutes left but was outscored 14-0 over those final 3 minutes. Serena Thomas led Delmar with 12 points. The Wildcats are 2-15 in the South and 3-17 overall. Woodbridge 40, Delmar 29 Delmar fell to 2-14 in the Henlopen South nad 3-16 overall with the loss to the previously winless Blue Raiders. The Wildcats were led by Serena Thomas' 10 points and Betty Thomas' 8 points. The Wildcats fell behind 31-21 after three quarters. Seaford 53, Delmar 24 Delmar dropped to 2-13 in the Henlopen South and 3-15 overall after being outscored 25-4 in the third period. Serena Thomas was the only double figure scorer for the Wildcats with 16 points. Milford 44, Delmar 40 The Wildcats fell behind 23-19 at halftime and couldn't make up the difference in the Henlopen South defeat. Serena Thomas led the Wildcats with 10 points. Delmar fell to 2-12 in the division and 3-14 overall. Delmar 37, Lake Forest 34 The Wildcats used balanced scoring to thwart host Lake Forest in a Henlopen South game. No Wildcats scored in double figures, but Jen Hastings, Tracey Lloyd, Serena and Betty Thomas, and Danielle Twilley each scored 6 points. The Wildcats overcame a 24-21 third quarter deficit. Dover 37, Delmar 27 The Wildcats held an 18-13 halftime lead but fell apart in the second half. Sarena Thomas led the Wildcats with 11 points. Delmar is now 1-11 in the Henlopen South and 2-13 overall. Smyrna 27, Delmar 20 Delmar scored only 9 points over the final three quarters to fall to 1-10 in the Henlopen South and 2-12 overall. Betty Thomas led the Wildcats with 11 points. Sussex Central 39, Delmar 32 The Wildcats led 19-18 at halftime but were outscored 13-4 in the third quarter to fall to 1-6 in the Henlopen South and 2-7 overall. Serena Thomas scored more than half of Delmar's points as she finished with 19. Sussex Tech 58, Delmar 51 (OT) The Wildcats pushed Sussex Tech to the limit but were outscored by 7 in overtime to fal to 1-6 in the Henlopen South and 2-7 overall. Serena Thomas led Delmar with 19 points including 16 in the second half. Nikki Custis contributed 11 more. Indian River 35, Delmar 26 The Wildcats managed only 17 points after three quarters in falling to the Henlopen South leaders. At 1-4 in the South and overall, Delmar didn't have anyone in double figures. Delmar 47, Woodbridge 37 For the first time since 1996 -- 55 games in all -- the Wildcats won. Delmar battled back after scoring only 2 first quarter points in the Henlopen South contest to break its three-year-old losing streak. The Wildcats were led by sisters Betty and Serena Thomas with 17 and 12 points, respectively. The Wildcats are now 1-3 in the South and overall. Milford 57, Delmar 29 The Wildcats fell behind 34-10 at halftime in slipping to 0-3 in the Henlopen South and overall. Betty Thomas led Delmar with 10 points. Smyrna 45, Delmar 30 The Wildcats dropped their season- and Henlopen South opener in coach Matt McGinnis' debut. Betty Thomas scored a team-high 12 points for Delmar.
