State Tournament 2nd Round
A.I. DuPont 84, Laurel 61
The Bulldogs found out why A.I. DuPont is 23-1 and the second seed in the tournament -- once the second half began. Laurel stayed close to A.I., trailing just 33-29 at halftime, but couldn't keep pace in the second half.
Terrance Watkins led Laurel with 14 points and center Hykeem Williams added 13, but point guard Titus Mims, the Bulldogs' leading scorer, had a subpar scoring game with only 9 points. Laurel's season ended at 14-10. The Bulldogs were the tournament's 18th seed.

Laurel 86, Sussex Central 76 (2OT)
Point guard Titus Mims had already scored 30 points through overtime, but he needed to add another 10 in the second overtime to lift the Bulldogs into a second round matchup against second-seeded A.I. DuPont.
Mims hit 8 free throws in the second overtime to help the Bulldogs into the second round against A.I. at 8 p.m. at Glasgow on Saturday, March 4.
After ending regulation tied 57-57, the two teams scored 13 points each in the first overtime. By then, however, Central had lost leading scorer James Cannon and both of its guards to fouls.
Mims took full advantage in the second overtime to score 10 of his 40 points. Hykeem Williams added 12 points for the Bulldogs.
In the grueling win over Sussex Central, Laurel led 24-16 in the second quarter before the Knights went on a 12-1 run for a 28-25 halftime advantage.
The Bulldogs face a formidable A.I. DuPont team in the second round. A.I.'s only loss this season was to top-ranked and unbeaten Sanford.
Laurel 57, Delmar 53
Point guard Titus Mims led a fourth quarter surge that carried the Bulldogs past their nearby rivals. Mims scored 12 of his 23 points in the final period as Laurel outscored Delmar 21-13 in the quarter to rise to 13-6 in the Henlopen South and 13-9 overall. The win wasn't enough to prevent Lake Forest from clinching a second consecutive Southern Division championship, however. Terrance Watkins added 13 points for the winners.
Laurel 83, Indian River 64
Laurel rose to 12-6 in the Henlopen South and 12-9 overall with the easy victory. The Bulldogs led by 16 points at halftime and were never challenged. Point guard Titus Mims' 19 points led the Bulldogs. Center Hykeem Williams scored 18 points and Kenneth Chase and Geoff Davis contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Laurel 65, Sussex Central 57
Point guard Titus Mims scored 28 points to help the Bulldogs rise to 11-6 in the Henlopen South and 11-9 overall. The Bulldogs sank 24 of their 25 free throws to secure the win. Geoff Davis scored a season-high 18 points on the strength of 4 three-pointers. The Bulldogs outscored Central 14-5 in the second quarter to take command.
Woodbridge 83, Laurel 76 (2 OT)
Laurel dropped the Henlopen South contest despite 36 points from point guard Titus Mims. Hykeem Williams and Terrance Watkins added 14 points apiece for Laurel, which fell to 10-6 in the division and 10-9 overall. The Bulldogs were outscored 46-25 in the second and third periods but forced overtime with a 20-8 edge in the fourth quarter. Both teams scored 11 points in the first overtime before Woodbridge was able to pull the game out in the second overtime.
Laurel 76, Dover 62
Center Hykeem Williams sparked the Bulldogs with 10 points in the fourth period. Laurel outscored Dover 25-11 in the fourth quarter. Williams fiished with 21 points. Point guard Titus Mims scored 15 points, as did Kevin Armstrong. Terrance Watkins added 11 points for Laurel.
Laurel 72, Milford 67 (OT)
Titus Mims' 20 points and 3 three-pointers paced four Bulldogs in double figures in the Henlopen South contest. Kevin Armstrong scored 15 points and Terrance Watkins added 13 in a game tied 62-62 after regulation. Hykeem Williams chipped in with 11 points. Laurel led 35-28 at halftime but was outscored by seven points in the second half before recovering in overtime.
Lake Forest 68, Laurel 57
The Bulldogs dropped further out of contention in the Henlopen South with the loss to the division leaders. Now 8-5 in the division and 8-8 overall, Laurel trails Lake Forest by 3 games. Point guard Titus Mims led the Bulldogs with 16 points, while Hykeem Williams and Geoff Davis scored 12 and 10 points, respectively. Laurel was in the game at halftime, trailing just 32-24, but was blown out 19-9 in the third quarter.
Laurel 54, Smyrna 46
The Bulldogs picked up the Henlopen South victory behind point guard Titus Mims' 21 points. He was joined in double figures by Terrance Watkins' 11 points and Geoff Davis' 10 points. Laurel took control of the contest in the first half, forging its way to a 25-16 halftime lead.
Caesar Rodney 78, Laurel 54
The Bulldogs fell apart in the second and fourth quarters when they were outscored 18-8 and 28-11, respectively. Point guard Titus Mims led Laurel with 21 points. The Bulldogs played without center Hykeem Williams.

Cape Henlopen 67, Laurel 59
The Bulldogs trailed 40-26 at halftime and despite cutting the gap to 48-45 in the third period couldn't completely recover in falling to 7-2 in the Henlopen South and 7-5 overall. Point guard Titus Mims led the Bulldogs with 25 points while teammates Hykeem Williams and Terrance Watkins added 12 and 11, respectively. Williams hit all 8 of his free throw attempts and Mims sank 10 of 14 free throws as Laurel shot 19 of 24 from the line. The loss kept Laurel a half-game behind Lake Forest in the division.
Laurel 57, Polytech 37
Kevin Armstrong's 15 points sparked the Bulldogs to their third consecutive victory. Hykeem Williams added 14 points to help Laurel rise to 7-1 in the Henlopen South and 7-4 overall. After a tight first quarter, the Bulldogs gradually pulled away. Terrance Watkins contributed 13 points to the victory
Laurel 62, Delmar 52
The Bulldogs took over sole possession of first place in the Henlopen South with a half-game lead over Delmar and Lake Forest. In giving their rivals their first division loss, the Bulldogs got a monster performance on the boards from center Hykeem Williams, who grabbed 17 rebounds to go with 13 points. Terrance Watkins added 14 points. Laurel outscored Delmar 15-6 in the third quarter to pull away and rise to 6-1 in the division and 6-4 overall.
Laurel 70, Seaford 34
The Bulldogs whipped their rivals in surprisingly easy fashion to rise to 5-1 in the division and set up a battle for first place with division leader Delmar on Jan. 7. Laurel completely shut down the Blue Jays, who had been averaging more than 70 points a game. The Bulldogs put three players in double figures, with center Hykeem Williams leading the way with 21 points. Point guard Titus Mims contributed 13 points and Terrance Watkins added 10 more.
Laurel 76, Indian River 64
The Bulldogs got off to a fast start to stay on the heels of division-leading Delmar with a victory that raised their Henlopen South record to 4-1. Team leaders Titus Mims and Hykeem Williams were in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively, but the Bulldogs got a boost from Terrence Watkins and Kevin Armstrong. Watkins finished with 18 points and Armstrong with 12. Laurel led 17-4 after the first period and 34-18 at halftime.
Laurel 70, Woodbridge 61
The Bulldogs won their second straight and rose to 3-1 in the Henlopen South and overall. Point guard Titus Mims led Laurel with 26 points while center Hykeem Williams contributed 19. Senior forward Kevin Armstrong added 13 points for the Bulldogs, who trailed 13-8 after the first quarter but took control with a 23-11 advantage in the second period for a 31-24 halftime lead.
Laurel 60, Milford 47
The Bulldogs broke open a close game in the fourth quarter with a 20-11 edge. Guard Titus Mims scored 20 points and center Hykeem Williams added 17 more as Laurel rose to 2-1 in the Henlopen South and overall. They got help from Terrence Watkins' 10 points.
Lake Forest 62, Laurel 52
The Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season to the defending Henlopen South champions. Titus Mims and Hykeem Williams led the Bulldogs with 13 points apiece. Laurel is 1-1 in the South and overall. Laurel trailed 36-30 at halftime.
Laurel 60, Smyrna 59
The Bulldogs began their season with a Henlopen Conference Southern Division win behind guard Titus Mims' 20 points. Hykeem Williams scored 11 points for the Bulldogs. Laurel saw a 14-7 first quarter lead all but disappear but held on at the end.
