The Ravens moved into the tournament quarterfinals with a hard-fought win in which senior standout Brian Polk became only the fourth Delaware player in history to score 2,000 career points.

The victory pits the Ravens against Howard in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. at Polytech. Howard beat Glasgow 82-80 in double overtime in another second round game. Tech is 21-3 while Howard is 18-6.

Polk scored 29 points against St. Mark's and had 18 of Tech's 22 points in the first half. The bad news was St. Mark's had 27 points at halftime and still led 37-33 entering the fourth quarter.

In the fourth period, Polk hit one of his 6 three-pointers with 6:50 left for his 2,000th point and less than a minute later, with 6:01 remaining, buried another three-pointer to give Tech a 41-40 lead it would never relinquish.

After Polk's three-pointer, Tech's L.J. Walston sank a pair of free throws to put Tech up 45-42 with 3:02 remaining and after St. Mark's pulled within 45-44 late in the game, Polk hit two more foul shots for a 47-44 Ravens lead with 37 seconds left.

Tech guard Tynell Tingle also helped spark the fourth quarter rally by scoring all 6 of his points in the period.
