The Delmar School District operates schools for approximately 750 students in Delmar, Del. and Delmar, Md., in this unique community that resides in two states. The Junior-Senior High School is in Delaware, while Wicomico County, Md. runs the district's elementary schools. A new Middle-Senior High School is under construction in Delmar. The school will provide Delmar students with state-of-the-art educational facilities. Delmar students have won Technology Student Association and Business Professionals of America awards, as well as state awards in math, science, writing, homemaking, sports, cheerleading, band and art. Approximately 80 percent of Delmar students go on to post-secondary school programs. Delmar teachers have received national honors including a Fulbright Scholar, a member of the National Oceanic Administrations summer research team, and Delaware Teachers in Residence.
